Without doubts this was the best present I got. Thanks to SpaceX for keeping the dreams of this old guy still alive!
Happy Birthday, bud! Wasn't my birthday, but I still felt to me like it was when I watched that landing ;)

The same reason I like midget porn, it makes me look huge.
And as for the video its just like a dirty joke, while it is not my preferred method of entertainment I can laugh at one once in a while. 8)

FYI I got the link from Elon Musk twitter feed although it was taken down later.

I admit, I also enjoyed the "I'm on a boat" link.

There is an anti-SpaceX crank I've been entertained to read name of Gary Church. Anyone now what his reaction has been to SpaceX landing on the barge successfully?

I can't find the guy and don't know if he died or finally got banned from the last sites that had been putting up with him.

He's the guy who kept on referring to the Falcon series as a "hobby rocket".

He more than likely died the death of an idiot exposed. He rightfully concluded he no longer has ground to stand upon (even imaginary) and is not man enough to stand up and admit he acted like a jackass. Happens all the time on the internet.

Elon confirms he'll give an overview on his BFR/MCT/City On Mars plans at the IAC in Mexico. "It's going to seem crazy" :-)
...
It's going to make NASA's #JourneyToMars look very dull. Elon's going sci-fi. He's going to absolutely blow the roof off it all.

Musk's true advantage is a centrally controlled large scale private effort. He will be able to dance circles around NASA and DC bureaucracies.

What made NASA do so well in the early years was its autonomy and flexibility. In a sense it was a larger and dedicated effort version of the Skunkworks' model. This is where SpaceX is now. And good for them. I can't wait for this coming week's launch. I hope it is another flawless stick. The last one showed amazing promise given the landing conditions and kinematics. It showed the system is well developed and robust.

SpaceX has an (unfunded) SAA with NASA to send a Dragon 2 capsule to mars with a Falcon Heavy and land it there:

Didn't Musk talk about this last week at some conference as well?
No matter, exciting to see them officially partnering. Also speaks volumes to the rampant bureaucracy that NASA has to deal with, "...late 2030s". Musk will have built a town on Mars by then. The NASA flyers can go to his bar for a beer and a dinner before they go 'explore'.

Although, given the far right position on the calendar for Falcon Heavy initial flight this year, that may yet slip right into 17.

Amazing the progress SpaceX is making so quickly compared to NASA... but at this point we still don't need to have any concern about them actually hitting a deadline. 2020 is the next opportunity... still not that far off considering.
