I got dibs on Oct 6 (anniversary of Robert Bussard's passing) and Nov 5 (day after elections). Of course, they might not be able to make a public statement for longer than that... don't know what the rules are.

My take: If Dr Nebel ends up building the so called WB-100, the Navy may not have the wherewithal financially to drop 20-40 million bucks, if thats the price tag. It may take a line item in the Congressional budget. If so, nothing happens until after January 20th 2008. Ad likely we're talking about summer 2009.

If the Navy can fund the next step in house, then by the end of the year 2008. Say early December, December 10th.

I believe that we will hear something by December 12th. What we may hear is rumors, but we should start to hear something by then.

I don't know who the peer review team consist of or how far it was sent into the fusion community, but, two men can keep a secret if one of them are dead, so I expect some rumors to begin to drip out (good or bad) by the 12th of December. The 12th will be at a point where nobody is finiished (reviwing) but they are all getting ready to go on Holiday break and that is where you usually get some talk.
