The drive is electrostatic.

The magnetism is to reduce electron losses to the drive grid.

Well the entire core is magnets...

they help eletrons form the well, the well accelerates the fuel ions.
I like the p-B11 resonance peak at 50 KV acceleration. In2 years we'll know.
