3D polywell drawings

Hey everybody. I've just been lurking around here now and then, with the brilliant updates today from EMC2 I thought I would post some pics I've made. Have a look and tell me what you think, hopefully my drawings will evolve into actual design drawings one day.

Here is a six coil reactor:

yellow and red cones represent ion and electron guns.
the wire frame around the outside represents a spherical vacuum chamber

Here is one of the six segments:

This suggests to me that six identical segments could be built. All the internal and external equipment could be attached to one sixth of the vacuum chamber shell. Then the six pieces bolted together to create a complete reactor.

Here is another version:

The purple cylinders represent Alpha particle traps

Here is a dodecahedron polywell with the spherical vacuum chamber made transparent.

blue - coils
green - coil supports to the surrounding vacuum chamber
red, yellow - ion guns / electron guns / instruments
purple - alpha traps above all the cusps

Here is one of the 12 segments.

As you can see the coil has 5 supports. They are all the same distance from the cusps in-between the coils so will experience the same re-circulating electron density. The same amount of current must enter and leave the coil so two of the supports will have stronger magnetic fields around them than the other three. Maybe this doesn't matter, I'm not sure but it is something to consider.

Here are two of the segments.

Here is a segment with four supports.

The supports will all have equal current flowing through them but will experience different re-circulating electron densities due to being different distances from the cusps.

Could you shrink those to 1/2 (linear) size?

Maybe with links to the larger ones. Page formatting is screwed with the large pictures.

Just making them links is easiest

Half sized in same order as above:

The size of one of them is still a tad large. Not obnoxiously so. Thanks for making the change!!!!

Thanks Betruger, I wasn't sure how to do that.

Lovely visualisations !

A couple of pics showed up in my paranoid browser as [x], but I got the idea.
Thank you.
