My understanding is that unless there is an actual war on drugs it's impossible to search a person, since the U.S. constitution only allows searches during wartime. There is one problem with legalization, now an arrest under interstate commerce violation is legitimate, where before if they arrested you for said violation they could only make it stick if you replied you understood the charges laid against you. The interstate commerce laws only affecting commerce of a thing that is legal, patented and regulated for legal use. It's recommended that if arrested and asked if you understand the charges as part of the Miranda process your reply is you do not. Saying you understand the charges means they make sense to you, when in fact they are on a very dodgy legal footing to begin with.
