Dempsey said the request for more U.S. forces in Iraq would create centers to help train the additional troops needed.

The lack of a border is caused by Black Markets. A favorite of our Republican friends.
If the border was MORE porous the Mexicans would come and go. But because getting in is so expensive you get people staying for longer than they would otherwise.
With economic differentials declining eventually Mexico will be Canada to the South. If it wasn't for the Black Market in some refined and unrefined vegetable matter.
The cure is to stop making things illegal. The lefty cure of making illegals legal has no chance. IMO. But the cure currently posited by the right is equally fantastic - the incentives are wrong.
