The Hard Truth; From Pravda

Post by Jccarlton »

Very entertaining find. The guy sounds like a Tea Partier! It is amazing that people writing for Pravda in the former soviet union has a better grasp of the reality here than those idiots in Washington.

"America has almost no real rail"

Heh. the CIA's world factbook gives a better view of that.
Railways:
total: 226,427 km
country comparison to the world: 1
Area:
total: 9,826,675 sq km
(which includes Alaska, but let's go with it)
That means each kilometer of rail serves 43 sq km of territory.

Russia:
Railways:
total: 87,157 km
country comparison to the world: 2
Area:
total: 17,098,242 sq km
That means each kilometer of rail serves 196 sq km of territory.

So, we're only served 4 times as well by rail as they are.

Not to mention that adding 80 cents to a gallon of gas DOES NOT kill us.

And the whole "blame and purge" cycle they predict is hilarious.

Heh, there was a recent article showing how America's rail has saved us economically and helped us fair better than most during this global recession. I can't find it though.
Science is what we have learned about how not to fool ourselves about the way the world is.
