Lithium could probably be used in a similar cycle. I wonder if it would have more energy density?

If magnesium is as easy to regenerate as depicted, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnesium-air_fuel_cell becomes more attractive. Using a solid fuel that burns to another solid isn't so easy with some engine types.

A company in Israel was seeking funding for a similar concept engine, but I can't find anything written on them more current than 2008, so I presume they failed to find investors.
