Aren't the politicians and bankers at all worried about teaching morality to killer robots? Who do they think the robots will target first once the program uploads.

Computers will be like humans by 2029: Google's Ray Kurzweil
In less than two decades, you won't just use your computers, you will have relationships with them.
...
Computers will also provide a way for humans to expand the range of their brains via the cloud, Kurzweil said. In the future people will be able to directly connect their brain to the cloud so that they can expand their knowledge and memory.

I think he is being optimistic. There remains so much we do not know about how the brain really functions. At this point, I think the best analagy is that we are kids with a listening rod looking for clues and correllation in an engine. We can also xray the engine. But, we fundamentally still don't know how it works in the aggregate.

If they only had legal pot in Venezuela all this Police State stuff would not be happening.

Shoppers in Venezuela might soon have to be fingerprinted in order to buy food

Once the scanners are in place at grocery stores, they will prevent shoppers from coming to the grocery store on repeat trips and buying huge quantities of food. "The order has been given to the superintendency of prices to establish a biometric system in all supermarkets and commercial and distribution chain networks of the republic," Maduro said. "The biometric system will be perfect. [It is an] anti-fraud blessing."

I imagine they subsidize food producers. In America we like subsidizing criminals through Prohibition. Funny thing is, despite Alcohol Prohibition having a similar effect there are groups in America who refuse to believe it.

The marks are wising up. Well some of them.

In Russia they used to subsidize criminal activity with nearly everything that way. It was called Communism. It was championed by the Communist Party. You know what they call its champions in America? The Republican Party. Who believe it or not actually think of themselves as anti-communist.

An American economist called them on it back in '72.

DOT Proposes Mandating Cars Broadcast Location, Direction and Speed

Image

Like any other instrument, the new automobile technology the federal government is now planning to mandate can be used for good or ill. Certainly, automated automobile warning systems based on accurate data broadcast by other people's cars and roadway infrastructure can save lives.

But as vehicles become fully automated, as they surely will, and the people in them no longer have absolute control over the vehicle's movements, a key question will be: Who does?
