Follow up. Why are so many people so enamored of bad German ideas and people who think of them as cattle?
Why individualism is better than collectivism
A year or two back I finally got the opportunity to visit the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. Dr Bussard was a member. One of the back hallways on the first floor has a photo gallery of the members who have won Nobel Prizes and other lofty awards, or have held high office.
From their website:
"Among its members, over the years, have been three Presidents, two Vice Presidents, a dozen Supreme Court justices, 32 Nobel Prize winners, 56 Pulitzer Prize winners and 45 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom."
And, I suspect, virtually all were individualists. Doc certainly was.

The progressives keep repeating the same terrible mistakes. How many people will die this time around? The thinking behind wanting to enslave everybody to the state just makes me sick.

Individualists joining a club is not all that oxymoronic. The Cosmos Club has an excellent library that subscribes to a number of scientific journals, and has inter-library loan, so it is great for scientists who don't have a major university library handy. They also have symposia to discuss current topics of scientific interest.
The thing about individualists joining a club is you really don't want to be around when they are having club business meetings.
