Philly Area Cops Freak Out Over Editorial Cartoon Depicting Children Asking Santa to Protect Them From Cops
I think "Light My Fire" will be a very big hit this summer. Just as it was in '67.
and this:
Georgia Man Killed in Drug Raid Was Face Down When Shot in Head, Says Family's Lawyer
According to Shook, the Hooks' home was searched for more than 44 hours with no drugs or contraband found.
Some one familiar with police procedures commented:

They kept waiting for one of their fellow officers to show up with something they could plant, but there wasn't any meth in the evidence room that day.
The cartoon on this page is also indicative of what is becoming a cultural meme.

Oops. I thought it was illegal to have pink siding on your house. My mistake. But it was a reasonable mistake...

Hey is that a dog? BANG BANG BANG BANG! He came right at me...hey lady get away from that animal...I said quit crying and move away from the animal...respect my authoritah...BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG...*reloads*...BANG BANG BANG ....I had no choice, she went for her waistband...oh, it was a tissue...looked like a gun. Oh well, I'll go home safe tonight and procedures were followed.

http://thefreethoughtproject.com/prosec ... nock-raid/
On December 19, also just before 6am, Burleson County Sgt. Adam Sowders, led a team in a no-knock marijuana raid on Henry Goedrich Magee’s mobile home in Somerville.
Also startled by these intruders, Magee opened fire, fearing for the safety of himself and his then pregnant girlfriend.
Sowders was unfortunately killed among the chaos.
In February, just a few months before the fateful raid in Killeen, all charges against Magee were dropped when a Texas grand jury refused to indict, based on them believing he feared for his safety and that this was a reasonable act of self defense.
With such similar circumstances and such intensely opposite repercussions one cant help but try to find the differences.
Most obvious?
Guy is black and Magee is white. Also, take note of the difference in photos used in the press.
BTW no drugs were found in either case. The War On Some Men aka The War On Some Drugs continues apace.

Alecia and Bounkham Phonesavanh never imagined their family would be at the center of a controversy over the militarization of police. But that’s exactly where they found themselves when their toddler was seriously injured by a SWAT team, also leaving them with a $1 million medical bill they have no hope of paying.
“They messed up,” Alecia Phonesavanh told ABC News' "20/20." “They had a faulty search warrant. They raided the wrong house.”

A commenter to the story said this about the police:
Many years ago as part of my role as a Psychologist I working for the State of Oklahoma, I administered the lengthy psychological test.....The MMPI. One of the things I learned is that police officers often have very similar profiles as do the criminals they arrest. I respect and certainly obey officers of the law. However, I don't think it takes much of a belief... such as the ends justify the means, for particular officers to cross to the dark side.....even though they likely would see their actions as justifiable, and would probably not even think such thoughts unless they got "caught" in a bad judgment.
