Avalanche Energy’s relatively small funding needs dovetails with their iterative speed ($29M!), but why the need for superconductors?
Counting the days to commercial fusion. It is not that long now.

I guess it is because they confine the electrons magnetically. Using superconductors for that would improve the efficiency of their apparatus.
