I wasn't familiar with the repeating crossbow. Very interesting!
I'm sure if we broadened what we consider "firearms" we could make a much longer list of inventions from the West. The various kinds of shot placed in cannons and even rifles and shotguns--most probably from the West. We could likewise sub-divide the various forms of semi-auto and automatic into several more groups, all from the West.
Westerners are very good at devising new ways to kill each other. Don't even get me started on grenades and bombs, warships and death rays, cigarettes and eggnog.
