Dave, the article that accompanies that has been in the works for about a year. I have no idea why it finally got the go-ahead now.
Yes, Richard runs classic Hirsch-Farnsworth machines. He's the first amateur fusioneer inspired by Dr. Bussard's suggestion that we encourage it as a hobby.
Just picked it up at the news stand. Bottom, page one. No mention of polywell, but Messrs. Ligon, Hull, and others get their 15 minutes. A little of the Farnsworth back story.
One can certainly speculate on the timing of the article's release.
No fresh news from New Mexico, but I have very high hopes they're getting close to publishing something.
I sure would love to see that in the WSJ, as soon as appropriate after scientific publication.
I'm quite sure the WSJ knows about this site and knows who to come to when the time is ripe.
I sent the WSJ author a few hints and told him to keep an eye out. Also gave him a path (through my June Fusion report) to McCain's interest. That should give him a few leads to work with.
Engineering is the art of making what you want from what you can get at a profit.
I'm already telling my engineering friends up here in Ann arbor to keep on their toes in case anything big happens in fusion. The suspense is killing me.
