Ah, okay, I agree then. I also think it's stupid to speculate when most of the non-tokamak scientists are keeping the information confined within the subcommunity.

Why is that? On the plus side, speculation is fun and can be thought provoking. On the minus side, ...? It's not like posting here has much influence on either the world or the careers of the people posting.

I think it is okay to speculate as long as all involved know that it is pure speculation.

The problem is that there is always someone who is going to try and see the guesses as fact.
