'Serendipity'

Could it be said that the Polywell approach is still small enough to respond to serendipitous developments ?? Something like ITER is TOO BIG to adapt 'on the fly'...

Funny, just as Ares rocket may be chopped to a 'license me' capsule and escape system, USAF are working to put X-37 mini-shuttle into orbit mid-2010...

And, yes, RE's Skylon are planning for 2020...

Accept Reality - Never Try

Post by nextbigfuture »

Do not hammer the steaming piles of crap. The crap just flies around and lands a few feet away.

Nothing is happening with NASA, government or the entrenched technology so listen to Dwayne and do not attempt change. Trying to advocate change just shows how you have failed to accept the reality.

I was, rather, drawn to the comment "They fit two of the three definitions of fetishes—things that space activists believe contain supernatural powers, and/or things that they have an abnormal fixation upon."

I am not entirely sure how this would be interpreted wrt Polywell Fetishists. It could mean they fixate on it. Though I would tend to interpret it as meaning that Polywell will need to run on supernatural powers!

Comment not my own, but I don't know the attribution.

Clark Lindsay at Hobbyspace perfectly sums up my thoughts and feelings about this, so I will just link to him.

I agree. All of these government agencies and contractors are nothing more than parasites. Today is no different than in history in that change can only come from outside the system.

The same is true for medicine. Future advances will come from SENS and DIY biology instead of the conventional system, which is even more worthless than NASA.
