Well, LENR gets more public exposure if more people are curious even if they are skeptics.parallel wrote:ScottL

Re: Sale Made per peswiki tweet
It's a little early to start talking numbers. The customer is likely aware that the performance numbers would look better over a longer sustained test and AR's device must have met their predetermined parameters.MSimon wrote:Is the customer going to get a 50% discount for half power?Rick Meisinger wrote:Sale made per PESnetwork tweet:

Whew! I thought I was going to have to re-learn everything! You are welcome.Giorgio wrote:It is not relevant at all. I was reading a pdf about Debye limit in absence of magnetic field right before I wrote the post and I wrote Debye instead of Coulomb repulsion.KitemanSA wrote:Sorry, in what way is debye relevant here?Giorgio wrote: Proton tunnelling should not be confused with proton ability to actually bypass the Debye limit and fuse with a target.
Thanks for pointing it out.

Wonder what these geniuses will write now. Does TomClarke still insist LENR doesn't exist?
Any guesses? Obviously instrument/measurement error. It's only 470kW Easy to get that wrong.

All Rossi does is generate buzz among the really stupid. Nowhere in all these threads can any of this be characterized as good science, engineering, or business. Moron to thief cash flows aren't as old as hooking, but really old nevertheless.

Well, funding Rossi is no more extravagant than funding people to stare at goats...
Instead of keeping his head down, or demonstrtaing working truck, he demonstrates a truck which cannot actually move but claims it is working. Not very practical. Or truthful.
What we talking about here Navy's Polywell project?MSimon wrote:Secret engineers. Secret companies. Secret customers. Secret results.I just got back from my turn. I was able to shoot a few pictures and take some video. The reason for the embargo on taking photos was personnel reasons. They don't want the engineers and testers to be shown, to keep them confidential. The company doing the testing does not wish to be known at this time.
I have an opinion on all this but I am unable to give it to you. Its a secret.
I have never heard of a business in normal times being willing to accept a plant that produces half its rated output with the promise that things will be better later.
What I would do as an engineer is to recommend that there be no acceptance until we got what we paid for.
This does not ring true.
I expect that the next thing we will see is that the "470" is a typo and the real number is "970".
Although in a conservatively designed piece of eqpt. I'd expect to see numbers like "1,030" indicating that the plant has some reserve margin for the inevitable degradation with age. Or possible missteps in installation.
Of course if the secret customer and the secretive Rossi are in collusion all bets are off. Well not yet to be sure. Eventually the marks (most of them) wise up. The rest get fleeced. Proving once again that there is a God.
But you do have to admit that faith can work miracles.
Just ask P.T. "there is a sucker born every minute" Barnum. I believe that with a larger population the frequency is higher. I haven't run the numbers.

Perhaps you think testing a possibly revolutionary energy source is "normal times" is probably what you are missing ...?MSimon wrote:I have never heard of a business in normal times being willing to accept a plant that produces half its rated output with the promise that things will be better later.

Oh, he's got an LENR reactor working but it is 'only" producing 470 kW ... think I'll pass on that one.... uh-huh.
You have independent verification of 470 KW?icarus wrote:Perhaps you think testing a possibly revolutionary energy source is "normal times" is probably what you are missing ...?MSimon wrote:I have never heard of a business in normal times being willing to accept a plant that produces half its rated output with the promise that things will be better later.

I admit that this went better than what I would have guessed.
The alleged net power output seems to be lower than predicted by Rossi, but that could have all sorts of reasons.
I dont want to get tooo excited, but I have to say that I have to adjust my stance to a 60:40 now. 60% chance that it works and 40% chance that it does not.
Against all predictions, the thing did not explode. So I guess Rossi is either a better engineer than predicted, or really clever at hiding the fact that his machine does not work (and therefore had no chance at exploding).
The fact that he managed to convince an actual client does give his claims quite a bit more credibility, but there are still margins for errors and the possibility of fraud.
Thats why I say 60:40...
If you call me an unconvinceable sceptic now, then you should remember that I used to be 90% sure that this was not working/fraud/self delusion until the recent test.
So yeah, if he really is a fraud, the he deserves all the money he is getting out of it for being that good!
So hats off to Rossi, one way or the other!

Anyone can be wrong; we all should honor that in humility. It will be interesting to hear from these naysayer guys when the dust settles from the test. It will be interesting to see how long they persist in their opinions. I suspect that there will be a half-life in the duration of their resistance. Throughout the long march of human knowledge, this is the way that the birth of a new paradigm is always treated.
The supporters of the E-Cat ideal likewise need to admit their error in abject humility if by chance this E-Cat monster system turns out to be a scam after all.
At this juncture, the situation is not yet resolved. I am hopeful that within a small passage of time that the truth will eventually be revealed.
